// ABOUT

A SMALL IMPRINT.
A NARROW FOCUS.

Tau Plugins is an independent imprint releasing a small number of signal-processing modules. Each one is built slowly, ships small, and is supported directly by the person who made it.

WHAT WE MAKE

Audio effect plugins for modern Digital Audio Workstations. Stereo, in-the-box, no special hardware. Distribution is direct: every license is sold from this website, and every update is delivered the same way.

WHO ARE WE

Tau Plugins is a small initiative run by Kirill Semenov — product manager, producer, and DSP engineer. One operator, the whole signal path: design, code, support.

The remit is deliberately narrow: good-quality, no-nonsense digital processing tools for everyday use — the kind that feel like something special in the session, not another generic item in the list.

HOW WE WORK

We believe a small number of well-considered tools is more useful than a sprawling catalogue. Each release is intended to outlast the trends it was written under, which is why we publish slowly and skip features we cannot stand behind for years.

Our plugins are quiet by default. They do their work, save their state, and return control to the host. They do not phone home with usage data, ship nag screens, or interrupt your session to ask if you are enjoying the product.

PRIVACY AS A POSTURE

We collect the minimum required to run the licensing system: an email address tied to a purchase, a hashed machine identifier per activation or free trial, and the activation and trial events themselves. No usage telemetry, no audio data, no crash reports without an explicit prompt.

Full details live in the privacy policy.

SUPPORT

Support is delivered by email, by the same person who writes the code. We answer within three working days, in plain text, without auto-generated nonsense.

NAME

τ — the lowercase Greek letter tau — denotes a time constant. The character of any reverberant system, any modulation, any decay is governed by how it relates to time. The imprint takes its name from that relationship.
